No one could anticipate the crazy weather that took place in mid-November. The new weather term, “atmospheric river” had people paying attention and asking, “What is that?”
On November 15, several of the Nothin’ Dragon Masters executives went down to check the dragon boats docked at Rocky Point as the weather had lifted ever so slightly. Sadly, both boats were under the water but still tied to the dock.
Team captain, Denise reported back to the team, “Water is so high, winds are so strong and it was so cold….we have to wait till morning to see what we can do to get our dragon boats up out of the water.”
Thanks to teammate Lori, on November 19, C-Tow Marine Service and the diving crew "Seawolf" came to the rescue to lift the boats back to the surface with air ballasts.
The team came out to help get the boats from the water to dry land.
