Membership Renewal and Fees are Due

Registration is open with fees due by October 31. This applies to regular members, active alumni, and recreational paddlers. If you’d like to change your paddler type, you can indicate that directly on the form. 

PROCESS:

  1. Complete the Renewal Form; 

  2. Complete the PAR-Q Health Assessment Form and email it to nothindragonmasters@gmail.com

  3. Send your dues to our Treasurer by Oct. 31. E-transfer fees to nothindragonstreasurer@gmail.com 

Applicable Fees (NDPS and OMBS): 

$350 + $15 Paddling member = $365

$100 + $15 Alumni member = $115

$150 + $15 Recreational member = $165

Starting in November and running through March

NEW: Hosted by the Draggin’ Divas paddling team, weekly sessions will take place Thursdays at Old Mill Boathouse (upstairs) starting by 5:30 sharp.

NOTE: A waiver must be signed before you take part. Click here to download the waiver and print it. Please bring it to the session.

Sessions run from 5:30–6:30 pm with a small $2.00 fee. So remember to leave a ‘Toonie on the Table’ to support Lisa.

Talk to your captains if you have any questions.

What to bring: bands, mat, towel, small weights and a heavier set, and proper footwear.

Inaugural Team Awards Banquet

Join us for our first ever, team awards banquet!

We’ll gather for a lunch at the Port Moody Legion 119 at 1 p.m. and enjoy camaraderie as we present some not so serious awards to members of our crew. Lunch is on you, awards are on the board.

Saturday Training STARTS

We start our Saturday morning trainings on March 15 and will run them weekly until the end of March.

  • Warm up, 9:30 am
    (in the gazebo if raining)

  • On the water, 10 – 11:00 am

  • Followed by coffee in the common room

After we come off the water we’ll enjoy some hot coffee and snacks in the boathouse.

Paddle to Deep Cove

Arriving in Deep Cove, 2017.

Join us for a casual paddle to Deep Cove on Saturday, October 4.

Arrive at 9 a.m. and take part in a warmup. Secure parking until at least 11:30 a.m. Some of us go to the legion for lunch afterward.

We will run one or two boats with the coach boat.

All members of Nothin’ Dragon Paddling Society are invited to participate.

As tradition has it, we will stop for coffee and donuts in Deep Cove and then paddle back. Dress for the weather and don’t forget your water to stay hydrated.

Penticton Dragon Boat Festival

Event info: “Held over two days, on the second weekend of September, approximately 2,000 athletes complete in dragon boat events. This 23rd annual event will host a vendors market, food trucks, and a beverage garden. Also keep your eyes peeled for the breast cancer survivor carnation ceremony. Spectators are invited, and encouraged, to come out and see what Western Canada's second largest dragon boat festival is all about.”

Event info: “Celebrate summer on the shores of the Fraser River! Steveston comes alive as an estimated 2,000 paddlers and 20,000 festival-goers converge for one of Richmond’s most popular community festivals at Steveston Harbour and Imperial Landing Park. Enjoy great dragon boat racing, local cultural and music performances, a strong local outdoor marketplace selection, and culinary offerings all day long, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.”

Kamloops Dragon Boat Festival

Nothin’ Dragon will attend their FIRST dragon boat event in Kamloops on August 9.

We’ll be sending one mixed team based on those interested in racing at this event which is coupled with a car show and rib fest going on in the city during the same time.

The event takes place on the Thompson River, held at Riverside Park and the team will compete in three 500m races and a 2000m Loops race.

All the best to our Nothin’ Dragon crew!

Vessi 500 Championship

Event Info: “The Vessi 500 Championship features Mixed and Women’s teams racing off in BC’s second largest dragon boat race! Come down and watch races on False Creek every 15 minutes. The event also serves as a testing ground for teams prior to the continent’s flagship dragon boat festival.”

Women teammates who can assist will help out the Talitha Koum Society, a recovery home in Coquitlam for women (and their children) on the road to addiction recovery. Outing sponsored by Centrum Solutions.
