Our Annual General Meeting was held on Oct. 23, 2025, marking an important moment of transition for the team. While we welcomed two new members to the Board, several long-serving members stepped down, Robbin Whachell announced she would not be standing as president; and Coach Denise Nelson announced she will no longer be NDPS coach.

After the election, the Board stands as follows:

  • President (2-year term ending) – OPEN

  • Vice President (1-year remaining) – Martin McKeown

  • Secretary (1-year remaining) – OPEN

  • Captain (2-year term ending) – Bob Walton

  • Race Registrar (2-year term ending) – Julie Parker

Lori Stuart came forward to provide heartfelt thanks to both Robbin and Denise for their leadership and dedication to our team.

Quite a few manager positions remain open, and one or two open positions were filled.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a certificate to Ric Tesan, recognizing him as the team’s first Honorary Member. Ric shared an inspiring update about his upcoming 2026 adventure—biking and canoeing as a Voyageur down the Ottawa River, and invited anyone to join him.

In closing, discussion focused on how the team will move forward without a president and secretary voted in. Laney Bryant suggested a nomination committee for future elections and Brent Murphy suggested holding a special meeting in the coming weeks, allowing members time to reflect and consider next steps.
